From a personal experience with laptop computers, it is not necessary to remove the battery from the notebook computers when the adapter plug in.

1, laptop computers originally with batteries and adapter supply simultaneously, so that even if a sudden power-down, there is the battery in the computer that does not mean a sudden shutdown, sudden power-down is bad to the motherboard, especially hard disk, read and write arm suddenly stopped in high-speed rotating, the hard disk may be damaged. And from the data security concerns, the case writing a material or editing the document, sudden loss of power without save is very depressed, the case is even worse the file wouldn’t be opened by completely damage - even if its will protect the battery not use the battery , protect the battery is far more unimportant than protect your computer;

2, I think, regularly swappable battery is more likely to cause poor contact to the battery and laptop interface;

3, from the lithium battery manufacturer’s technical information briefings, Li-ion laptop battery is really no memory effect, at least not very obvious, unlike the nickel-metal hydride battery;

4, Vast majority of notebook computers have power management software now, adapter is not charge the battery at all times, there is a threshold usually, battery will only start charging when power below this threshold value, the adapter didn’t charge the battery when the battery insert In the notebook, the battery is also not in use, so there is no difference between the battery hooked up and removed, in view of the previous point 1, still should not be removed;

5, some computer batteries also designed a mat in it, if remove the battery, the computer is only 3 foot pad touch the ground, and of course do not remove the battery for unbalanced reason;

6, from my personal experience, is indeed no need to remove the battery. My last laptop computer, the battery can use 4 hours when new, the battery has never been removed, 4 years after, the battery still can last 40 minutes (the battery does have the the capacity reduce phenomenon), and there are a lot of people rarely use the battery , a year or two over, the batteries is that’s all. My new notebook, used a year and a half, have never been removed the battery too(Macbook’s battery have a mat), and the battery life is still almost no significant difference in particular compare with the original.

Most of the notebook battery is made up of cylindrical battery cells

The current notebook battery made from batteries cells by series-parallel connection, there are commonly 4, 6, 9 cells battery in the market.

4 cells = 2 series - 2 parallel

6 cells = 3 series - 2 parallel

9 cells = 3 series - 3 parallel

A cell voltage (unit: Volt) = 3.6V or 3.7V

A cell electric quantity (unit: Ah) = 1.8/2.0/2.2/2.4/2.6/2.8AH

Mainstream notebooks are the 3-series 3-parallel 9-cell battery, we descrip the composition of the battery take an example of dell 6400 battery below.
We assume that cell voltage u = 3.7V; 2.2AH (batteries electricity = AH)

Since 3 conspiracy, so the battery voltage U total = 3.7V * 3 = 11.1V

Since 2 and, therefore, the battery charge = 2.2* 3 = 6.6AH (AH)

Battery module total capacity = 11.1 * 6.6 = 73WH

Minimum load notebook power state for 13w (ideal)

Battery time = 73WH/13W = 5.6 hours

Note: the above data for all of us understand the principles set by the battery composition, different manufacturers battery not identical

The Types of Batteries Cell

Manufacturers classified into four categories ABCD ( Sanyo distinction, Sanyo and Panasonic distinction mode actually has become industry standards) in the production of the identical batch depending on the battery discharge test performance, a = 2000MAH, b = 2200MAH, c = 2600MAH, d=2400MAH, print distinguish code on ABCD in the battery, and then simultaneously to distinguish by battery protection gas cover color (battery willproduct gas when discharge, batteries have a protective cap, deflated when the battery to a certain amount of time, that is to say will reach the design life quickly gas will lift the lid to open, allowing for battery removal), this is the source of ABCD, due to Sanyo and Panasonic strength, this also became the default distinction in the industry. Of course, this subject to restrictions on production technology, currently Sanyo stopped original 2400mah batteries internal material composition, formulation of new material instead, so that at present, the production of 2000-2600mah SANYO batteries, are virtually different quality products in identical line.

Why should I measure my blood pressure at home and keep a record of it?

Measuring your blood pressure at home and keeping a record of the measurements will show you and your doctor how much your blood pressure changes during the day. Your doctor can use the measurements to see how well your medicine is working to control your high blood pressure. Also, measuring your own blood pressure is a good way to take part in managing your health.

How do I know if my monitoring device is accurate or if I am using it correctly?

Once you buy your monitor, take it to your doctor’s office to be checked for accuracy. You should have your monitor checked once a year. Proper care and storage are also necessary. Make sure the tubing is not twisted when the monitor is stored, and keep it away from heat. Periodically check the tubing for cracks and leaks.

Ask your doctor or nurse to teach you how to use your blood pressure monitor correctly. Proper use of it will help you and your doctor achieve good results in controlling your blood pressure.

Understanding the medical terms

Blood pressure is the force of blood against the walls of the artery.

Hypertension means high blood pressure.

Hypotension means low blood pressure.

Brachial artery is a blood vessel that goes from your shoulder to just below your elbow. You measure the pressure in this artery.

Systolic pressure is the highest pressure in an artery when your heart is pumping blood to your body.

Diastolic pressure is the lowest pressure in an artery when your heart is at rest.

Blood pressure measurement is made up of both the systolic and the diastolic pressure. It is normally written like this: 120/80, with the systolic number first.

What are the pros and cons of the digital monitor?

Because the digital monitor is automatic, it is the most popular blood-pressure measuring device. The blood pressure measurement is easy to read, because the numbers are shown on a screen. Some electronic monitors have a paper printout that gives you a record of the blood pressure reading.

The digital monitor is easier to use than the aneroid unit. It has a gauge and stethoscope that are one unit, and the numbers are easy to read. It also has an error indicator, and deflation is automatic. Inflation of the cuff is either automatic or manual, depending on the model. This blood pressure monitoring device is good for hearing-impaired patients, since there is no need to listen to heart sounds through the stethoscope.

A disadvantage of the digital monitor is that the accuracy is changed by body movements or an irregular heart rate. In addition, the monitor requires batteries. Some models are designed for use with the left arm only. This may make them hard for some patients to use. Finally, some digital monitors are expensive. They range in price from about $30 to over $100.

Types of Machines

For ease of use machines can be fully automatic and measure blood pressure correctly on the upper arm at heart level. The readings are given on a digital display and can be stored in the monitor’s memory or printed out. There are many different types of machines available however the standards of accuracy may vary. The information on these pages will hopefully help you make an informed decision on your purchase - which machines are best, where to buy them from trusted online stores and how to use the blood pressure monitor correctly.

Sometimes your blood pressure is raised when taken in a clinical or medical environment, such as your doctor’s surgery. This is called white coat hypertension and can be caused by feeling anxious, or by being in a busy or noisy environment. Blood pressure readings taken at home are often lower than those taken at a doctor’s surgery, whether a doctor or a nurse takes them. Readings taken away from the clinic are now seen to give a more accurate picture of your normal blood pressure.

Research published in the British Medical Journal revealed that people who monitor their blood pressure at home have better blood pressure control. The paper, “Blood pressure control by home monitoring..” shows clear evidence that patient involvement in the monitoring of blood pressure brings better results than those monitored solely at their surgery or clinic.

Recommended Blood Pressure Monitors

Staff taking general enquiries at the Blood Pressure Association became aware that increasingly people are measuring their own blood pressure at home, and are keen to know what machines are recommended. There is a wide range of machines available to the public. If you are considering buying a blood pressure monitor it is important that you make an informed purchase, it is worth investigating the quality, types and check prices before you buy a machine for home use.

Details of blood pressure monitors suitable for home use, compiled by the British Hypertension Society (BHS) are available on their Web site you may find it a useful guide when you buy a blood pressure monitor. All of the monitors on this list are digital upper arm monitors and have been through independent testing shown in research to be accurate and are currently available.

Click To access the some Automatic Digital Blood Pressure Devices for Home use

I check Web sites regularly for availability and best price on accurate machines (listed by the British Hypertension Society) and happily provide links to these sites which stock a wide range of Omron and A + D Instruments recommended machines. A leading online supplier of blood pressure monitors is Medisave who currently offer a price match guarantee on BHS validated machines.

Where can I Buy a Validated Blood Pressure Monitor?

A wide range of machines are available from The First Aid Warehouse and Medisave and often include free gifts and promotions (free pedometer with Omron Machine at First Aid Warehouse or First Aid Kit with Monitors bought from Medisave.

Omron, Microlife and A+D Instruments: Machines approved by the British Hypertension Society. See one wrist blood pressure monitor of entire list of BHS approved blood pressure monitors here or choose from the selected machines below.

The First Aid Warehouse are online UK distributors of medical equipment to both medical professionals and individual home users. They stock a wide range of blood pressure monitors including automatic digital machines validated for accuracy by the British Hypertension Society BHS. They consistently score high on excellent value for money and high quality service. They stock blood pressure machines that the British Hypertension Society recommend - Microlife, Omron and A and D Instruments - accurate monitors for home use and regularly include promotions with their sales. Visit the First Aid Warehouse blood pressure monitor department

How do I use an aneroid monitor?

Put the stethoscope ear pieces into your ears, with the ear pieces facing forward.

Place the stethoscope disk on the inner side of the crease of your elbow.

Rapidly inflate the cuff by squeezing the rubber bulb to 30 to 40 points higher than your last systolic reading. Inflate the cuff rapidly, not just a little at a time. Inflating the cuff too slowly will cause a false reading.

Slightly loosen the valve and slowly let some air out of the cuff. Deflate the cuff by 2 to 3 millimeters per second. If you loosen the valve too much, you won’t be able to determine your blood pressure.

As you let the air out of the cuff, you will begin to hear your heartbeat. Listen carefully for the first sound. Check the blood pressure reading by looking at the pointer on the dial. This number will be your systolic pressure.

Continue to deflate the cuff. Listen to your heartbeat. You will hear your heartbeat stop at some point. Check the reading on the dial. This number is your diastolic pressure.

Write down your blood pressure, putting the systolic pressure before the diastolic pressure (for example, 120/80).

If you want to repeat the measurement, wait 2 to 3 minutes before reinflating the cuff.

How do I use a digital monitor?

Put the cuff around the arm. Turn the power on, and start the machine.

The cuff will inflate by itself with a push of a button on the automatic models. On the semiautomatic models, the cuff is inflated by squeezing the rubber bulb. After the cuff is inflated, the automatic mechanism will slowly reduce the cuff pressure.

Look at the display window to see your blood pressure reading. The machine will show your systolic and diastolic blood pressures on the screen. Write down your blood pressure, putting the systolic pressure before the diastolic pressure.

Press the exhaust button to release all of the air from the cuff.

If you want to repeat the measurement, wait 2 to 3 minutes before reinflating the cuff.

Hp Pavilion DV6000 series seems occered in a lot of problem. Some body says, The Pavillon HP laptops battery problems are truly the pits and may be enough for people to stop buying HP laptops! But I have to say that it’s not inherently HP’s responsibility, some problem of HP Pavilion DV6000 battery may cause by us and could be fixed by some simple operation.

HP Pavilion DV6000 Battery Problem Case

When the Hp DV6000 battery powered, the screen flickers and finally crushes out.
No matter when I use my battery to supply power for the laptop, the screen will suddenly flicker then die out when I using it. But the computer is still running and the screen still seems opened. Besides there nothing displayed on the screen (once I could watch movies and still hear sounds).
This happens only when using dv6000 battery for power supply, and it is not the case when using AC power supply.

I’ve got an HP dv6000 that will not charge the battery. I took the unit apart and replaced the power jack/usb board, thinking this would solve my problem…it didn’t. I am still having the same problem.

I am able to charge the dv6000 battery in a friends hp and the laptop works great until I need to charge again.

I noticed that my laptop power stayed at 6% even though I was on power for over two hours. I checked and noticed this…plugged in, not charging.

My laptop is pluged on but the dv6000 battery meter keeps telling me that it’s not charging.

Well…I have had the same problem with my DV6109. When the battery completely discharges due to lack of use and charging, it gets stuck at 0% and the red X appears across the battery.

Basically, power down the laptop and then remove the AC adapter plug. Remove the dv6000 battery, perhaps wait a minute. Then put the battery back in and then plug in the AC adaptor plug. You then should see the charger light come on showing the battery is charging. Perhaps wait a few minutes before powering on the laptop to confirm that the battery is indeed charging. The problem seems to be in the logic (not sure where, if it is the software driver, etc.) when the laptop is on, it doesn’t get a charge. But with the laptop off, plugging in a battery after it has been removed - it works with a simpler charger system that doesn’t use the computers’s main CPU.

The problem is i shut it down fully charged. the next morning i star it up and it look ike it has been running as the dv6000 battery is down to almost half, i want to go away for a month and want to take it with me but cannot work on a half battery always. i enstalled the vista battery gadgets thingy, will that have an effect. when i shut it down it looks like there is some thing on still as a blue light stay blinking for a long time.

My laptop DV6500t turned itself on automatically after I shut it down. This caused the battery to drain all the time. I sent it in for repair, but HP couldn’t reproduce the failure and just sent it back to me.

I have problem with my laptop, its 1y old, I bought it from a friend, and until now I didnt notice anything bad, because it was always plugged into power. Now what happens is , when i turn it on, w/o being connected to power, it boots up and when it reached windows screen, dv6000 battery goes to 0%. I’ve also noticed that when batt. is cca. at 65% (battery indicator), and not connected to power, its like when is at 0%, nb goes to sleep-mode , but when I try to ressurect it, it wont boot up. I have to plug it and then turn on. To my surprise battery is then indicated again at 0%.

Solution for HP Pavilion DV6000 Battery Not Charge

Reinstalling the power management software has just fixed it for me. Go to device manager and under batteries, unistall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery. Go to Actions on the menu bar and select ’scan for hardware changes’. It will reinstall it and hopefully start charging immediately (mine did anyway).

If your HP Pavillion dv6000 has a battery that won’t charge yet still turns on when plugged in, turn off the laptop and remove the battery then wait for around 30 seconds, re-insert it and turn it back on, the charging update should say, plugged in, charging.

I made the bios update, and works for me. My Dv6000 battery problems were fixed. The battery led always blinking every time and the battery didn’t charge. Now it’s ok !
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01087277&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&dlc=en&product=3245619

If it is still under warranty you can chat with an online hp tech who will check it out over the internet and send you a replacement for free. the dv 6000 laptops have a recall on a few problems and there is a bios update to fix it before it happens but will not correct it after the fact the recall on specific problems extends the warranty to 24 months http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01087277&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&dlc=en&product=3245619 should get you to the warranty page.

Just got it to charge again. While the laptop is powered and in Windows XP, press and hold the POWER button until it dies. Then, remove the dv6000 laptop battery. Power it back up and enter Windows. Then, re-insert the battery.

So I always remove the Hp dv6000 battery after I have powered down the laptop, and I have not had any battery problems since then!

I had the same issue my fix was a new cmos battery that was only $10.00 and install updated bios software from HP

I had the dv6000 battery problem where it showed my battery NOT CHARGING. I took it apart because my QUICKPLAY would not work either and the QUICKPLAY lights stayed on even after I shut down the laptop. I found that the black ribbon cable on the right (the other looks the same but you can see it is for the power button) was slightly kiltered in the flat socket it goes to underneath the area where the quickplay button is. I straightened it out and made sure it was pushed all the way in and locked and put it all back together and everything worked perfectly after that. About a month before that my POWER and SOUND didn`t work. I did the same thing to fix those problems. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THOSE CABLES EXACTLY RIGHT in there, IT MAY JUST BE YOUR PROBLEM TOO.

Some people dont realise that you should avoid short charges and discharges, if your batery does not go above 40% mabe its charge memory thinks its full. to fix this problem let the batery run fully down, then charge it all the way again. try it a few times if it doesnt work. and you have to go all the way, not let windows go into hibernation. to do that you need to get the batery low, then boot to some boot disk and let it sit till the batery dies.

HP has posted BIOS updates to address battery problems as well as the auto startup on some.If you will post the full model number, someone can help you find your driver/updates page.

Toshiba Power Management – an introduction

The Toshiba Power Saver / Power Management utility manages the power consumption of various devices on Toshiba notebook computers. Its primary purpose is to extend the amount of time that your machine can run from its battery or batteries.

There are two primary power management modes: settings for running from the battery, and settings for running from the AC adapter.

The default settings for running from the battery are designed to yield long battery life with reasonable performance. If, for example, the computer is left unused for a minute or two, the backlight for the screen (LCD panel) would turn off, thereby significantly reducing the power drain on the laptop battery. By adjusting various settings and timeout values you can optimize the power management scheme more toward saving power, or more toward enhancing performance.

Following is a list of typical Power Management features. The specific options and settings will vary somewhat from one model to another. Consult your User’s Guide for further details for your model.

Processor Speed This setting controls the processor (CPU) clock speed. Reducing the processor speed can significantly reduce the demand for power from the battery. Increasing the processor speed can significantly improve the performance of ‘CPU-intensive’ applications — video-editing software, for example.

Display Brightness This setting controls the backlight brightness for the LCD, which is a significant component of any portable computer’s total power consumption. Setting this to a low brightness value my ease eyestrain in low-light environments — during air travel, for example.

Display Power Off This timer-based setting will turn off the display backlight after a specified time interval (two minutes, for example) of inactivity (no input from the keyboard or the pointing device). Its operation is similar to that of a screen saver, but it offers a power-saving benefit as well as a privacy benefit.

Hard Drive Power Off This timer-based setting will turn off the hard drive’s motor (stop it from spinning) after a specified time interval (five minutes, for example) of hard-drive inactivity. Selecting a low timeout value will cause the drive to be powered off relatively soon, dropping the power consumption. The disadvantage of having the hard drive powered off is the second-or-two delay required to “spin up” the hard drive for the next access — when, for example, you wish to open a new file, or when the operating system needs to write some data to the disk.

System Standby This timer-based setting causes the computer to enter Standby mode (sometimes called Suspend or Suspend/Resume) after a specified period (30 minutes, for example) of inactivity (no input from the keyboard or the pointing device). On the way into Standby mode, the computer saves its operating state to a dedicated area of memory, and then enters a special low-power mode in which almost all components are completely powered off, including the CPU, screen, hard drive, and most internal circuitry except for the power supply and the main memory (RAM). The memory is continuously refreshed, keeping its contents (the operating system, any running programs, and open documents and other data files) ‘alive’, so that when the power button is later pressed, the computer “resumes” from the same state it was in before it was powered off automatically. Whatever applications and documents you had open before will now re-appear, after a delay of just a few seconds — rather then the longer delay when emerging from Hibernation mode – or the delay of a few minutes necessary for re-starting Windows, re-launching the applications, and re-opening the documents. The computer can remain in standby mode indefinitely if it is being powered by the AC adapter, but if it is running from the battery it can stay in Standby mode only as long as there is enough energy in the battery to keep the memory powered (no more than two or three days, and much less with an aging battery). Once the battery’s energy is exhausted, the computer will simply turn off, at which point the contents of memory will disappear, including any open documents of other data files. Therefore, always frequently save the contents of your open files to the hard drive, so that you may retrieve them from there regardless of the status of the copy of the file in the computer’s memory.

System Hibernate This timer-based setting causes the computer to enter Hibernate mode after a specified period (30 minutes, for example) of inactivity (no input from the keyboard or the pointing device). Hibernation mode is roughly similar to Standby mode: the state of the computer, the operating system, any running programs, and open documents and other data files are all saved — but to a dedicated area on the hard drive, rather than to memory. The computer is then turned off. Since everything has been saved to the hard drive, the computer can ‘Hibernate’ indefinitely, whether running from the AC adapter or from the battery. Since the computer’s memory is powered-off, along with almost everything else, power consumption from the battery is at a minimum, so its charge will last longer than it would if the computer were in Standby mode. When the computer is later powered-on, it reloads its previous state from the hard drive, which takes considerably longer than resuming from Standby mode, but much less time than it takes to re-start Windows, re-launch the applications, and re-open the documents. Hibernation is not a substitute for, or an alternative to, explicitly and frequently saving documents and other data files to disk, using the Save commands built into each application.

Intel SpeedStep This allows the CPU clock speed to be dynamically adjusted according to the changing requirements of the operating system and application software.

Troubleshooting

If Power Management does not seem to be working correctly, first verify that the various settings correspond to your preferences, and that you understand the function of the settings and what triggers them (a specific time-period of mouse and keyboard activity, for example).

One commonly misunderstood power saving feature is the operation of the cooling fan. When the cooling method is set to Performance, the fan turns on when the processor (CPU) reaches a sufficiently elevated temperature. Typically, the computer can seem quite warm to the touch well before the processor’s temperature rises enough to trigger the fan. It may seem that the fan should spin up, considering how warm the case of the computer has become, but the CPU may still be operating within its normal temperature range.

If the hard drive rarely shuts down, despite a low timeout value, this may well be because Windows and application software access the hard drive from time to time. Windows routinely accesses the hard drive for ‘housekeeping’ chores, and applications may be configured to automatically save your documents or other files at intervals. Any hard drive access, including these automatic processes, will reset the countdown timer value for the hard drive power-off feature.

Another common source of confusion is for the active Power Usage Mode (sometimes labeled Long Life / Normal / High Power) to be different than the one expected. On many models, you may use the Fn+F2 Hotkey combination to easily select the desired Power Usage Mode.

If the Toshiba Power Management functions are not working correctly, or if parts of the user interface for them are missing, you may wish to re-install the Power Saver software, after carefully removing it according to the following procedure (here described for Windows XP, though the sequence is similar for other versions of Windows):

1. Turn the computer OFF by clicking Start, then Shut Down.

2. Turn the computer ON, while tapping the F8 key repeatedly. A menu of startup options should appear. If the menu does not appear, try shutting down and restarting again, tapping the F8 key until the startup menu appears.

3. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.

4. If you see a setting for “Switch to Classic View” at the left side of Control Panel, select it.

5. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.

6. From the “Currently installed software” list, select and then click the Change/Remove button for whichever of the following utility programs are present. The list of utilities will vary from model to model.

           Toshiba Tbiosdrv Driver
Toshiba Utilities
Toshiba Power Saver
Toshiba Common Modules

7. Close the Add or Remove Programs window.

8. Double-click on the System icon in Control Panel. Click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.

9. In the menu bar, click View. If there is no checkmark to the left of the Show Hidden Devices menu item, then click it. A checkmark should then appear.

10. Locate the Toshiba Logical Device entry. Select each of its sub-entries in turn, and then press the Delete key to uninstall that sub-entry. The list of items will vary from model to model, but typical entries include the following:

Toshiba ACPI-Compliant Value Added Local Device
Toshiba ACPI-Compliant Value Added Local Device Extension
Toshiba Value Added Logical and General Purpose Device

11. Download the Toshiba Power Saver utility for your model from this website. For detailed website navigation instructions, see Obtaining downloads and documents from the Toshiba Support website.

12. Re-install the Power Saver utility, per the instructions that come with it.

Other power management options

Depending on the version of Windows running on your computer, there may be other Power Management options available to you. In the Windows XP Control Panel, for example, the Power Options utility offers many settings similar to those offered by the Toshiba Power Management utilities.

Some on line site introducd their spy pen like this:

Fancy your chances as a real-life James Bond? The spy pen we talk about here is not just a ordinary cheap Spy pen camera available in the market today with other thousands of cheap spy gadgets. This is a Real Professional Pen DVR for the professional investigators or Law enforcement agenciesThis Video pen camera have high quality video and audio with real time date and time stamping for the evidence in the court . Built in 2GB/4GB/8GB memory gives a 16 hours audio video recording in AVI format which is acceptable for the evidence in Court or in Police and Army Departments.”

Then, what is a “spy pen”?

A hidden camera can be wired or wireless. The former will be connected to a TV, VCR, or DVR, whereas a wireless hidden camera can be used to transmit a video signal to a receiver within a small radius (up to a few hundred feet).

Some hidden camera shows have led to lawsuits or being denied to air by the people who were trapped in set-ups that they found unpleasant.

Hidden Pen Introduce

A hidden camera is a still or video camera used to film people without their knowledge. The camera is “hidden” because it is either not visible to the subject being filmed, or is disguised as another object. Hidden cameras have become popular for household surveillance, and can be built into common household objects such as smoke detectors, clock radios, motion detectors, ball caps, plants, and cellphones. Hidden cameras may also be used commercially or industrially as security cameras.

Spy Pen Categora:

Video Spy Pen - You can slip it in to your pocket, then click the button for instant color pictures and audio recording. The picture quality is high, the audio is clear enough.
You can easily attach the receiver to a TV or VCR to record your surveillance footage.
The only issue is you need the receiver (you get this included) to be within 100 meters and in line of sight of the spy pen – this does limit your uses for using a video spy pen so unless highly important a combination of the still camera pen and the audio pen offer great mobility and detailed surveillance possibilities.

Digital Image Spy Pen - The pen is totally self sufficient and can be carried anywhere - perfect for on the move surveillance.
This digital camera spy pen looks totally normal and writes totally normal as well. No one will know that you’re taking their picture. The 36 pictures it stores in its 2MB memory are good enough in quality for recording documents, files or regular images. The focus and exposure is all auto, and the battery life seems very long (they say 500 pictures but it seems more).

Audio Spy Pen Camera - The audio spy pen is another one suited for “on the move” surveillance (it’s worth considering to take both; a still image and an audio spy pen to cover all eventualities.
My favorite audio spy pen is digital, has 128 MB of memory, can record up to 8 hours of audio - it can be carried and used anywhere. You can disguise it as a key-ring with the parts included and it is internally rechargeable – no batteries to replace.

Spy Pen on the Market

Data Rate: 34kbps

Video File Size: >2200KB per min

Data Transfer Speed: 700kB/s (Read) 600kB/S(write)

System Requirement: WINDOWS 2000/XP/LINUX

Spy Pen Usage:

Press the switch on the smart camera pen, it begins to kinescope as soon as being turned on. The blue light will turn on during kinescoping.

Press the switch again, it will begin to save data and then turn off, at this time, the light turns to yellow, reflect that the pen DVR is at sleeping status(that means do not kinescope or shut down neither).

If need to kinescope again, press the switch once more, then can come back to kinescope , during this time ,the light will turn to blue again.

Hold down the switch for 5s , then the power switch is off ,after shutting down the pen camera DVR , there is no guide light.

When finish charging the battery , the light stops glittering and the yellow light keeps on ,which means that battery is fully charged.

The pen camera will turn off itself when the battery has been used up. And will save the kinescoped files before automatically shutting down.

Now, you can operate a spy camera pen like the James Bond, but note, don’t use this camera pen recorder for illegal purpose.

How get in touch with your group while there is no cell-phone coverage? How to communicate with each other instantly for a long time in one area? How to talk to more the one people in urban or mountain area? How to get a sonorous sound and low battery requirements from a connection electronics? The answer is Two-way Radio.

Based on my knowledge about two way radio and the informations on line, composed some tips about How to buy a two way radio below.

Two-way Radios Good At And Not Good

PROS:
Much smaller and lighter than CB radios.
Operate anywhere in the U.S., no cell-phone coverage issues.
No monthly service or roaming fees.
Potentially long ranges and excellent sound quality.
Small power requirements.

CONS:
Reception is limited to line-of-sight usage.
Clear channels can be difficult to find in congested areas.
GMRS channel usage requires a FCC license and fee.

Types of two-way radios

1. FRS (Family Radio Service) models — lower-power units that operate with a half-watt of power. They can transmit on 7 FRS channels and 7 shared FRS/GMRS channels (channels 1-7) — a total of 14 channels.

2. GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) — higher-power radios that, for models used in outdoor recreation, typically offer 1 or 2 watts of power. GMRS signals can travel on any GMRS or FRS bands — a total of 22 channels.

Most radios now have all 22 FRS and GMRS channels available. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires a five-year license to use GMRS bands. More details about these two types of radios can be found later in this article in the “Channels and Privacy Codes” section.

Compare Features

Size and Weight: Shop units by size, shape and weight, especially if your intended use is backpacking. You’ll want a lightweight radio that isn’t bulky. If you’re a skier or mountaineer, look for an ergonomic shape so you can easily use it with gloves. As noted earlier, consider a model where the antenna length is similar to the length of the unit’s body.

Calling and Paging Features: Pre-set “calling” tones can let you grab the attention of other members of your party before you start talking. You can also set some models to vibrate instead of making an audible tone.

Scanning: This allows you to cruise through channels in order to find the one that your group is using. You can also use this feature to quickly locate an “empty” channel for your group to use.

Keypad Lock: This allows you to lock your settings in order to prevent them from accidentally getting changed as you go about your outdoor activities.

VOX: The voice-activated (or “VOX”) feature begins broadcasting automatically when you speak in the direction of the radio, thus letting you operate it hands-free. Mountain bikers and skiers find this to be a useful function.

Noise Filter: This allows clearer signals and enhanced range.

Weather Radio: Tap into the NOAA weather band stations for local forecast and conditions. This is a very handy feature for anyone, but can be essential for backcountry adventurers.

Headset Jacks: Jacks for microphones, headphones and microphone/headphone combos allow for hands-free operation. This is ideal for active sports—skiing, kayaking, cycling—where you might not be able to stop and answer the call.

Radio/GPS Combo Units: Though more pricey, Garmin RINO (Radios Integrated with Navigation for the Outdoors) units offer all-in-one nav/comm capability. A key advantage is peer-to-peer positioning, which allows you to broadcast your location coordinates so they appear on your fellow RINO users’ screens.

Compatibility

Any two-way radios broadcasting on the same frequency (FRS or GMRS) and supporting the same channels will work together. Keep in mind, though, that to get full use of your radio’s other features, you’ll need another radio with the same features. Thus, it makes sense to buy in pairs.

When people buy new radios, they are sometimes frustrated by their inability to connect with older radios. Since older radios cannot send out the number of tones that newer radios can, this can usually be solved by setting the new radio to channel 1, code 0. The default setting for new radios is channel 1, code 1.

This is explained in most user manuals. And here’s something you should know about manuals: While it is natural to break out newly purchased two-way radios, insert batteries and begin experimenting with them, it’s a smart move to sit down and devote some time to reading the user manual thoroughly. You’ll usually learn a pointer or two that will make operating your radios a simpler task.

Battery

Most two-way radios run on standard AA or AAA batteries. Others come with their own rechargeable NiMH battery (nickel-metal hydride) or NiCad (nickel-cadmium) battery packs. A few can accommodate either.

In general, the higher a radio’s power output, the faster it will drain your batteries. Look for models that send the unit into a low-power, battery-saver mode after a certain amount of time has elapsed between broadcasts. Or consider a solar charger for in-the-field replenishment of NiMH and NiCad batteries.

Useage Area

Two-way radios made for use in the USA are generally not legal to use outside North America. In 2005, the frequencies used for two-way radios in the United States and Canada were aligned, both meeting the same requirements. Mexico formally allocates only FRS channels. Other countries may use these frequencies for police, military or other applications.

Summarize
For short-range use in uncrowded areas, FRS channels may be all you need. For longer-range use and more channel options, you’ll want GMRS channels. For ultimate convenience and versatility, choose one of the new radio/GPS units.
